Different Password Change Intervall Under NSC413

Last update: 28 April 2005

Natural Security 4.1.3 is behaving differently, with regard to the password change interval, compared to Natural Security 2.3.2.

Under Natural Security 2.3.2, if the user profile contained a non-zero password change interval:

  • Online users received a NAT0838 message, when the password expired, and were prompted to change their password.

  • Batch users received no message, and were not prompted to change their password. Natural Security 2.3.2 suppressed this for batch users.

Under Natural Security 4.1.3, if the user profile contains a non-zero password change interval:

  • Online users receive a NAT0838 message, when the password expires, and are prompted to change their password.

  • Batch users receive a NAT0838 message, when the password expires, and are prompted to change their password. Natural Security 4.1.3 treats online and batch users the same, in this regard. This is by design.
Batch user profiles should not have password change intervals defined.
